Project Overview

We were commissioned to design and manufacture a modular inverter housing unit for General Electric, tailored for use in remote and environmentally challenging locations. The key objective was to create a structure capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions, exposure to wildlife, and long-term outdoor deployment. The unit also needed to integrate specific ventilation and accessibility features to support efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems critical to renewable energy distribution.

Engineering & Technical Deliverables

Our engineering team worked closely with General Electric's installation specialists to ensure seamless integration with on-site infrastructure. The housing units were constructed using Corten Grade steel, chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion. We designed custom louvre systems to facilitate proper airflow and temperature regulation, crucial for inverter performance. In addition, we fabricated adapter platforms to accommodate site-specific siting conditions and groundworks, ensuring structural stability and ease of deployment across varied terrains.

Results & Impact

Through close collaboration with General Electric’s design teams in India and China, we successfully delivered 11 fully engineered inverter housing units. Each unit was built to exacting technical standards, ensuring not only durability but long-term reliability in renewable energy applications. These containers will now form part of a vital energy infrastructure project, supporting the generation and distribution of clean, renewable power for the next 30 years—underscoring BCL Containers' commitment to sustainable, high-performance solutions.

“ BCL Containers delivered exactly what we needed. The build quality, ventilation design, and material selection exceeded our expectations. Their coordination across teams helped us stay on schedule—an outstanding partner in our renewable energy rollout “
